From the college home base to the Hall of Fame, Sherman Cottingham has achieved what few people can claim to achieve! Sherman Cottingham, a native of Farmerville, LA, the Woodlawn Community, a graduate of Grambling State University, and an outstanding baseball player for the GSU Baseball Team, has been inducted into the Black National Baseball Hall of Fame! Cottingham had also played on the Canadian Prairies in 1963 when he brainstormed with the legendary Satchel Paige! To Cottingham, The Gazette would like to congratulate you on your well deserved achievement and recognition. Welcome to the Black National Baseball Hall of Fame.
