Paul Richard Chapman, 78, of Farmerville, Louisiana, was born on December 20, 1945 and passed away on June 5, 2024. Services will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rocky Branch. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Kurt Auger, Bro. Aleck Nyegaard, and Justice Jay B. McCallum officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Asa Lajoy and Evie Moss Chapman. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Sue Chapman; daughters, Melanie Chapman, Monica Newcomb (Gary), and Michelle Thomas (Josh); grandchildren, Bradley Newcomb, Emily Thomas, Meredith Thomas, Jacob Thomas, and Hannah Thomas; brother, Joel Chapman (Patty); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was a devoted husband, a supportive and loving father, a proud granddaddy, and a friend to many. He enjoyed working in his garden, fishing, and spending time with his family. He barbered for 54 years, so there were many stories told and world problems solved in that barber shop, and even a few pranks. He was a deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rocky Branch. He was a Freemason and a member of Union Fraternal #53 F&AM Lodge in Farmerville. He loved his family and friends, but more than anything he loved Jesus.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Newcomb, Gary Newcomb, Josh Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Dalton Spillers, Eddie Albritton, and Gary Cobb. Honorary Pallbearers are J.C. Honeycutt, Bill Phillips, Gary Chapman, Dickie Chapman, and Jerry Farrar.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jetha, St. Francis ICU nurses, Nicole Carter and Elara Home Health, Sydney Brown, Whitney Reich, and Penny Burchard.
