Joan Lee Phillips Adkins

Ward’s Chapel Church of Christ will host a fellowship dinner for Joan Lee Phillips Adkins Saturday, January 27 at 12:00 p.m. and a short memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Adkins was born September 21, 1947 in Sacramento, California and peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her home near Farmerville at the age of 76.

Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Winans Phillips and Levy Thomas Phillips; and her brothers Arlin Brazzel and Layne Truett Phillips, both of Sacramento, California. Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Larry Wayne Adkins, and her sons Terry Wayne Adkins and wife Denise of Downsville, Louisiana, Michael Layne Adkins and wife Sheila of White Oak, Texas, and Kevin Wayne Adkins and wife Christina Adkins of Farmerville, Louisiana. Additional survivors include sisters, Louise Sims of Post Falls, Idaho, Dorothy Winans of Mountain Ranch, California; grandsons Brock Wayne Adkins of Downsville, Louisiana, and James Blake Adkins of Downsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ward’s Chapel Church of Christ is located at 1821 Hwy 828, Farmerville, Louisiana.

The family will inter Mrs. Adkins’s remains at Ward’s Chapel Cemetery in the near future.
