Funeral services for Ernest Eugene Parks were held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Liberty Baptist Church in Linville, Louisiana. His final place of rest was at Roark Cemetery in Marion, Louisiana. Visitation was held at the church on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, Louisiana. Ernest Eugene was born on June 24, 1930 in Singleton, Mississippi and passed away on September 30, 2023 at home in Marion, Louisiana. He earned a Master’s Degree from Louisiana Tech University in Botany and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.  He loved his family and cherished the time spent with his great- grandchildren. He considered Linda Kennedy and Glenda Reynolds part of his family.  He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors gardening, hunting, fishing and trips to the old home place.  Many cherished memories at “Little Colorado”. Ernest Eugene is survived by his wife, Bobbye Jene Parks; three children, Clara Hudson and husband Joe, Edrie Parks, Terry Parks and wife Denise; grandson, Caleb Parks and wife Kirsti; four great-grandchildren, Annaliese, Artemis, Andrew and Ada; sister, Lanie Carelock Curtis and husband Ernie; and many other cherished family and friends. Pallbearers : Caleb Parks, Greg Green, Gary Harrell, Matt McPherson, Robert Pace, and Pete Reynolds.  Honorary pallbearers : Joe Hudson and Charlie McGraw.
