Dennis Kennedy

Dennis Conrad Kennedy, 89, of Farmerville was born on December 24, 1933 and passed away on April 13, 2023.  Visitation will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, Louisiana.  A second visitation will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 with funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Rubin Weaver officiating.  Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Farmerville under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents, Shep and Minnie Kennedy; and siblings, Lone, Weldon, Ethel, Mae, Jeff, Joe V., James Gale and Euell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Nobie Kennedy; sons, Michael Kennedy (Noreen) of Houston, Texas and Gary Kennedy (Selene) of Ruston, Louisiana; grandchildren, Hailey (Tyson) and Christopher, great-grandson, Hayden; siblings, Grace Pardue (L.E.) and Helen Hogan (Kent); sister-in-law, Marie Richardson of Shreveport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kennedy retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service and from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office with 12 years of service.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  He restored antique vehicles, a 1928 Ford Model A was his pride and joy.  He adored his 2 grandchildren and his great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Kennedy, Casey Kennedy, Darvin Acree, Josh Acree, Royce Temples, Todd Malone, Christopher Kennedy and John Preaus.  Honorary pallbearers are Claude “Pee Wee” Kennedy and Scott Hart.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association and Antioch Baptist Church.
