Keshia Machelle Jones and Clayton Howard Allen exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Holmesville Baptist Church in Downsville, La. Jerry Whitman officiated the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Darren and Jalanna Jones and Howard and Sheree Allen, all of Downsville. Grandparents of the bride are Willie and Christine Jones and Debbie Mann, all of Downsville, and Russell Mann of Spearsville. Grandparents of the groom are Mae Hammons, the late Dolan “Buddy” Hammons, and the late Victor and Nell Allen, all of Downsville.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a Maggie Sottero strapless, slim A-line gown with a corset closure. It featured compelling ivory Alenˇon lace adorned with sparkling sequins and beading over light gold satin. The strapless neckline was enhanced with scalloped edging, while a gold satin ribbon and glistening brooch accent adorned the waist. She wore an ivory pearl necklace given to her by her grandmother. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangeas and cream roses wrapped in ivory lace.

Katie Jones, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Julia Hancock, Ashley Butler, Amber Baird, sister of the groom, Cara Allen, sister-in-law of the groom, and Kelly Phillips, cousin of the groom, served as bridesmaids. Hannah Pardue, cousin of the bride, served as a junior bridesmaid. They wore floor-length Bill Levkoff eggplant-colored satin dresses.

Devin Sweitzer, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Chris Allen, brother of the groom, Brent White, Dan Boyd, Cody Rawls, and Christopher Butler, served as groomsmen. Clint Jeane and Zach Antley served as ushers. Melissa Jones and Brianna Kirkland, both cousins of the bride, served as guestbook attendants.

The bride and groom are both graduates of Downsville High School and Louisiana Tech. Keshia has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is currently employed with Centurylink in Monroe, La. as an accountant. Clay has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and is currently continuing his education at ULM School of Pharmacy.

The reception was held at Calvert Crossing Country Club in Calhoun, La. where guests enjoyed food provided by L&L Catering by Linda Peevy. Entertainment for the night was provided by “Windstorm” of Shreveport, La. The event was coordinated by Shelly Hill of Belle Fleur in Sterlington, La.

Following their honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will make their home in Downsville.
