|Preaus, Blanchard marry on August 5|
Robin Wesley Preaus and Gregory Jackson Blanchard, both of Shreveport, exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 5, in a private ceremony at five o’clock in the afternoon in Couch Church at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport.
Officiating the double-ring ceremony was Rev. William Stokes, Jr. of Ruston and Rev. Johny Hankins of Farmerville.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Steven Preaus of Farmerville, La. she is the granddaughter of Maxwell Ray Taunton, Sr. of Farmerville, the late Dolores Hicks Taunton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Preaus, Jr.
Robin is a graduate of Cedar Creek School in Ruston and the University of Mississippi in Oxford, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She is employed by Novartis Pharmaceuticals as an executive sale consultant.
The groom is the son of Doctor and Mrs. Pierre Valmont Blanchard IV of Shreveport.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson, and the late Pierre Valmont Blanchard III.
Greg is a graduate of Saint Stanislaus College in Bay Saint Louis, and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He was a member of Delta Kappa fraternity. Greg is self-employed as a financial healthcare consultant.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
She wore an elegant gown of candlelight satin and crystal organza by Zura. The shirred star burst effect of the side draped bodice, petite straps, and bodice edging were ornately enhanced with crystal beading. The princess style skirt featured a layering of sculptured tiers edged with tiny crystals and cascaded into a chapel length train beneath the corseted back. The veil was a single tier of fingertip silk illusion edged with tiny crystal beading. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Escimo roses, mini green hydrangeas, and white callas accented with a collar of salai leaves.
The bride’s sister, Brook Preaus Robinson, of Ruston, served as matron of honor. She wore a princess line cocktail length dress of espresso satin. The dress featured a front and back V neckline and was accented with an organza sash and jacket. She carried a bouquet of callas handtied with toffee brown ribbon.
Todd Justin Blanchard, brother of the groom, of Springhill, served as best man.
The bride’s brother, Steven Maxwell Preaus, of Shreveport, served as usher.
Robert Gray Blanchard, the groom’s nephew, of Springhill was the ring bearer.
Nuptial Music was provided by organist Ray Peebles.
A wedding reception for family and friends was held at the University Club in Shreveport with entertainment provided by the band, Reliance, from Memphis, Tenn.
The wedding cake table was covered with several heirloom table clothes belonging to the bride’s great-great grandmother.
Following a wedding trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, the couple will reside in Shreveport.
