The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Bethel Young Baragona of Ruston, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lucian Murphy of Rockwall, Tex. She is the granddaughter of Dolores V. Young of Ruston, the late Taney G. Young, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Murphy. Casey is a graduate of Ruston High School and is currently a senior at Louisiana Tech University pursuing a degree in merchandising.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Steven Preaus of Farmerville. The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She chose an elegant gown of candlelight satiny-silk by Melissa Sweet. The bodice, fashioned with petite straps, was softly draped, plunging to a deep back waistline. The skirt silhouette flared to a dramatic ruched princess style cascading into a semi-cathedral train beneath a trailing of satin buttons down the back. Side sashes extended around the back and intertwined along the train to complete the elegant gown. The silk illusion blusher and cathedral length veiling, edged wit satin ribbon, created the bridal headpiece. She carried a bouquet of mini green hydrangeas hand-tied with ivory satin ribbon.

Kara Murphy and Kaylee Murphy, the bride’s sisters, served as maids of honor.
Bridesmaids included Robin Blanchard, sister of the groom; Ashley Morhmann, the bride’s cousin; Briley Brasher, Kristen Guilliot, Megan Hayes, Ann Marie Kees, Brooke McDonald, Amy Pepper, and Lacy Paynes. The bridesmaids wore identical floor length black satin sheath gowns by DaVinci, fashioned with V necklines and sculptured black chiffon at the midriff. They carried hand-tied bouquets of green open roses and green spray roses accented with Italian ruscus and wrapped with ivory stain ribbon. Brooke Robinson, sister of the groom; Lindsey Graham, Molly McCormick, and Erin Rogers served as honorary attendants. The attendants carried hand-tied bouquets similar to the bridesmaids.

Flower girls were Michaela Milsap, the bride’s niece; Jaclyn Murphy, the bride’s cousin; and Audrey Taunton, the groom’s cousin. They wore tea length sleeveless ivory satin dresses accented with wide black sashes. Each carried a green button-daisy kissing ball with ivory ribbon handles.

Mr. Preaus served his son as best man. Serving as groomsmen and ushers were Greg Blanchard and Jeff Robinson, the groom’s borthers-in-law; Dan Preaus and Jake Preaus, the groom’s cousins; Teddy Durrett, Ben Haddox, Andrew Hicks, Justin Norris, J.D. Graffam, Garner Johnson, Neal Carter, and Nick Henley. Owen Robinson, the groom’s nephew, served as ring bearer. Andrew Barham and Thomas Barham were bell ringers.

Nuptial music was provided by pianists and soloists Mary Anne Earle, Dee Alexander, and Seth Jones. Heather Austin and Erin Negron attended the bride’s book. Program attendants were Madison Milsap, the bride’s niece, and Sarah Tyler. Carley Bowman served as the bride’s attendant.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Ruston Civics Center. The wedding cake table was covered with several heirloom tablecloths belonging to the groom’s great-great grandmother. Mrs. Kim Brasher served as reception coordinator assisted by family and friends. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at the La Bella Vita Italian Grill in West Monroe. The event was hosted by the groom’s parents.

Following a wedding trip to the LaBlanc Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Shreveport.
