Creekwood Gardens in Simsboro was the setting of the ceremony uniting in marriage Karla Marie Duty of Farmerville, and Marshal Lane Doss of Dubach, on Sat., Aug. 26, 2006 at 7 p.m.
Rev. Vernone Lee, uncle of the bride, performed the double-ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, Michael Duty, the bride wore an ivory chiffon sheath gown with drape neckline and silver diamond detail with an empire waist and pleated back ending in a chapel length train.
The bride carried a bouquet of silk peonies in the colors of pink and white. The bridal attendants wore brown halter organza tea length dresses with a pink flower sash on the side. Each carried a bouquet of pink roses. Maids of Honor were Kimberly Duty and Stephanie Duty, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Misty Reppond, Melisso Mayo and Lori Gaskin.
Flower girls were Alie Doss, sister of the groom and Mandi Gresham, cousin of the groom. Both girls wore white tea length dresses with pink ribbon.
The groom’s attendants were Best men Chuck Doss, father of the groom and Jonathan Martin. Groomsmen were Jeremy Pilgreen, Kyle Campbell and Kerry Gaskin.
Ring bearers were Ethan Hall, cousin of the bride and Caleb Gray. Ushers were Matt Duty, brother of the bride and Michael Chisholm, brother-in-law of the groom. Serving at the bride’s book was Angie Chisholm, sister of the groom.
The reception followed at Creekwood Gardens. Parents of the bride are Michael and Lori Duty of Farmerville. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morris of Ruston and Chuck Doss of Dubach. Grandparents of the bride are Rev. Miales and Lorene Parker and the late Peggy Parker and the late Shelton and Nita Duty, all of Farmerville. Grandparents of the groom are Sylvia Doss and the late Archie Doss of Dubach, and Victor and Janelle Colvin of Ruston, and Karl and Mary Fulton of West Monroe.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Linville High School, and is currently a senior at Louisiana Tech University majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is employed with Super One in Ruston. The groom is a 2003 graduate of Dubach High School, and is currently a senior at Louisiana Tech University majoring in graphic design and mechanical engineering. He is employed with Kay’s Auto Body in Hico. After a honeymoon in Mexico and the Cayman Islands they are making their home in Dubach.
