Farmers complete December turnaround

A strong December as
helped Union Parish pull
out to a record of 10-4,
including a six-game
win streak dating back
to a 51-43 win over Red
River on Dec. 13.
Since that victory the
Farmers have defeated
Lakeview (66-54), Summerfield
(53-50), Northwood
(45-37), Oak Grove
(62-46), and Vision Academy
(72-43).
The Lady Farmers
stand at 5-4 on the season
after defeating Delta
Charter 40-39 on Dec. 20.
Union Parish’s girls
also have December wins
over Oak Grove (48-27),
D’Arbonne Woods (54-33)
while the Lady Farmers
have also dropped games
earlier this month to Homer
(50-41) and Haynesville
(42-40).
The D’Arbonne Woods
boys stand at 11-0 at the
Christmas with their
next game slated for Jan.
9 at Cavalry Baptist.
D’Arbonne Woods
girls are 7-9 and are coming
off a 39-36 win at
Delhi Charter on Dec. 18.
The Lady Timberwolves
have also chalked
up wins over Beekman
(33-29), Downsville (53-14
on Dec. 12 and 49-15 on
Dec. 1), Grand Isle (39-
18), Hanson Memorial
(64-22), Vision Academy
(36-0) and St. Frederick
(45-35).

dropped two straight
but have posted wins this
season over D’Arbonne
Woods (53-40 on Dec. 12
and 69-35 on Dec. 1), Claiborne
Christian (46-40),
Kilbourne (63-53) and
Central (of Jonesville,
74-15).
Downville Charter’s
girls team stands at 4-9.
Neither the boys or
girls’ teams from Union
Christian were in action
just before or after the
Christmas holiday. The
Lions are put together a
9-4 record and are 3-3 in
MAIS District 6-A play,
while the Lady Lions
are 6-5 overall and 0-3 in
district play. Both teams
return to action in sets
against Northeast Baptist
on Jan. 4 and return
to district play on Jan. 9
with games against Briarfield
