Funeral services for Mrs. Willene Finklea, 81, of Farmerville were held at 2:00pm Sunday, August 4th at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Jackson and Bro. Wendall Sellers officiating. A private burial followed in Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mrs. Finklea, a retired ward clerk, passed away August 1, 2013. She was a Mother and Nana to many; a baseball and softball coach and a cheerleader coach. She was the first female to make All-State in basketball. Her favorite pastime was fishing and raising worms. And, she loved to crochet.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Marshall Finklea; parents, Cue & Onie Hicks; sister, Dot Taunton and son-in-law, Larry Stockle.
Left to cherish her memory are her 5 sons: Ricky Finklea & wife, Roxanne, Randy Finklea & wife, Renee, Mark Finklea, Lane Finklea & wife, Kim, and Tracy Finklea & wife, Ann Marie; 4 daughters: Kay Stockle, Jane Gray & husband, Wayne, Missy Pylant & husband, Jamie, and Nancy Tyson & husband, Chuck; 2 brothers: Bobby Hicks & wife, Anita and Gary Hicks; 23 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were her sons and grandsons. Visitation was Saturday, August 3rd at Farrar Funeral Home.
