Funeral services for Mary Graves Mashaw of Farmerville, Louisiana, will be held at Farmerville United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 9, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Truman Stagg and Bro. John Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Enterprise Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mashaw was born August 6, 1932, in Ouachita City, Louisiana, and passed away January 6, 2013.
While she worked for many years at the Louisiana State Office of Family Services, her true passion was exhibited in teaching, where she touched the lives of many and inspired her students to pursue their dreams. Outside of work, some of Mary’s fondest moments were spent in her home cooking and entertaining loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, O.D. and Evelyn Graves of Marion, Louisiana.Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Louis Mashaw, daughter Lisa and husband Don David Wilkes, and grandchildren David Wilkes and Crystal Wilkes, all of Farmerville. She is also survived by her brother Wallace Graves and wife Joy of Sterlington, Louisiana, and her sister Sue Saunders and husband John of Farmerville, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Alexander, Stein Baughman, Scotty Booth, Clyde Jolly, Joe Platt, and Donovan Saunders.
Visitation was held Tuesday, January 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
The family appreciates the kindness and support shown by family, friends, physicians, and the caregivers at Arbor Rose Assisted Living Facility and Arbor Lake Nurse Care Facility.
