Photo of Jimmy Heard Odom Funeral services for Jimmy Heard Odom, 65, of Farmerville were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Conway Baptist Church with Bro. Robbie Lawson & Bro. Byron Boykin officiating. Burial followed in Conway Cemetery with Masonic rites and military honors. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Jimmy Heard passed from this life to his eternal life in Heaven on June 25, 2012. He was a retired Major in the U. S. Army Reserve; was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Farmerville, and a Mason in Farmerville. He worked in commercial construction in his youth; was an insurance agent, and was a musician for life with the 13th Hour/Westwind Band. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.G. and Ruby Odom.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Odom of Farmerville; 1 son: Joseph B. Odom & fiancée, Hope Howel of Lafayette; 2 daughters: April Johnson & husband, John of Farmerville and Miranda Moss & husband, Jody of Monroe; 1 stepson: Kayne Frye & wife, Rochelle of Farmerville; 1 stepdaughter: Kandi Spangler & husband, Bill of Columbia; 1 brother: Stacy Odom & wife, Shelley of Columbia; 2 sisters: Linda Jones & husband, Jack of Crossroads and Sherri Shreve & husband, Toby of Downsville; 6 grandchildren:, Brett & John Barron Johnson, Mary Kate Moss, Kody & Klair Spangler, and John Kaynon Frye; special aunt: Ernestine Slade and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Larry Allen, Jim Payne, Richard Allen, Donnie Byrd, John Perry Wagnon and Glen Post III. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Dollar, Duke Tobia, Phillip Odom, Al Woods, David Hayes, and Doug Phillips.
Visitation was Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church in Farmerville.
