Karen Yvonne Rosson (07-03-2012)
On June 15, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer, Karen Rosson 51 years old crossed over to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The love and happiness she spread among those who knew and loved her will continue to be a testament to the spirit in her that will never be forgotten. Karen was born in Farmerville, Louisiana on March 16, 1961. She was lovingly known as “Mamaw K” to her family, friends, and every child who knew her. Karen rededicated her life to the Lord in 2008 at Meridian Baptist Church.
Her parents Ralph and Louise Rosson precede Karen in death. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sabrina Harrison and Samantha Santiny, three grandchildren who filled her life with joy; Zachary Harrison, Talan Harrison, and Jared Santiny, Son-in-Laws Brad Harrison and Jerry Santiny, her fiancée and special companion, Charles Gunter, two brothers, Jimmy Rosson and Johnny Rosson, two sisters Rachel Cook and Kathy Rosson. One brother-in-law, Leo Cook and a very special sister-in-law and friend, Brenda Rosson. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews including special nieces Carrie Cook Watson, Amber Rosson Hudson, and Emilee Rosson.
Under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, visitations were on June 17 from 5-8 p.m. and the funeral, officiated by Bro. Aleck Nyegaard was on June 18th at 10 am at Enterprise Baptist Church. Mandi Borys-Simpson, Bonnie Rosson, and Nathan Futch provided vocals. Karen was laid to rest at Enterprise Cemetery. Pallbearers were Benji Rosson, Shannon Rosson, Jory Hudson, Jason Futch, Kenneth Talbert, Shannon Futch, Bryan Upshaw, and Shane Upshaw. Honorary pallbearers were Zachary Harrison, Talan Harrison, Jared Santiny, Ben Rosson, Waylon Rosson, Brandon Rosson, Jacob Fossier, Shamar Turner, Jordan Hudson, Jakemian Fields, Ni Jeel Meeking, Jalan Jones, Dylan Wiley, Keiundrae Woods, Shannon Hammond, Ronnie Cook, and Donnie Cook.
Karen loved to be around family and friends; she also loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a huge fan and supporter of the Farmerville Tiger youth football team. Her smile, gentle heart, and fun-loving personality will never be forgotten. The family would like to give a very special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Homecare Resources, Dr. Ron Hammett and staff, Dr. Sanson and staff, Melody Lockwood, Dr. Donias and staff, Enterprise Baptist Church and last but not least, all family members and friends that have dedicated their time to the family at this difficult time.
