84, of Farmerville
were held at 2 p.m.
on Thursday, December
14, 2017, at Salem
Baptist Church with
Bro. Rubin Weaver
officiating. Burial followed
in Liberty-Hill
Taylor cemetery under
the direction of
Farrar Funeral Home
in Farmerville.
Mrs. Savage – a
devoted wife, mother,
grandmother and
friend – went to her
heavenly home on December
11, 2017. She
enjoyed gardening with her husband. Most of her
time was spent taking care of her family that she
loved dearly. “Mammaw Joyce” will be remembered
for her pecan pies and coke floats that her grandchildren
looked forward to. She was a faithful member
of Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Savage was preceded in death by: Her parents,
Archie Pool and Faye Johnson; infant son,
Tommy Wayne Savage; a sister, Marieda Wheilis;
and a brother, Leon Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory is: Her loving husband
of 67 years, Jearl Savage of Farmerville; a
son, Ronnie Savage and wife, Judy of Farmerville;
three grandchildren – Connie Ginn of Farmerville,
Thomas Savage and wife Pam of Calhoun and Donnie
Savage and wife, Lynette of Greenwood; eight
great-grandchildren, Austin Ginn, Kayla Price
(Garrett), Blake Ginn (Bonnie Boatright), Morgan
Savage and fiancé, Dustin Roane, Hayden Ginn,
Kannon Savage, Kooper Savage and Kruze Savage;
one great great-grandchild, Brycen Jack Roane;
brother-in-law, Hurley Wheilis and wife, Shirley;
special friend, Ida Belle Albritton; and a host of
friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Thomas Savage, Donnie Savage,
Austin Ginn, Blake Ginn, Hayden Ginn and Kannon
Savage.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December
13, 2017, in the chapel of Farrar Funeral
Home.
Her family would like to express their sincere
appreciation and special thanks to the caring staff
of Union General Hospital and Dr. Steven Venters.
