Shannon Louise Pritchard (06-29-2017)
died on June 16, 2017,
with her husband at her
side at Saint Luke’s Hospital
in Houston, Texas.
Shannon was born
on July 15, 1946 in Fullerton,
Calif., to Thomas
and Eloise Kirk. She was
an only child that grew
up around cattlemen.
Her father branched out
from the cattle/dairy
business and established
a successful trucking
business, while her
mother ran the office
operations. They moved
to Farmerville in 1978.
When Shannon left High
School in 1964, she began a long and successful career
working for the Department of Defense, specifically
the United States Marine Corps in the area of finance.
Her career lasted over 20 years. During that time, she
met and married a Marine officer named Charles Rick
Pritchard on July 12, 1981 at Marine Corps Air Station,
El Toro, California. In August of 1995, Shannon
and Rick retired from the Marine Corps and settled
in Farmerville to be near her mother, Eloise. In all of
her travels in the multitude of duty stations throughout
our country, in the Far East, and Europe, she felt
Farmerville was home. This is due to the many dear
and lifelong friendships she had made in Farmerville.
Shannon is survived by: Her husband Rick; son Barry;
daughter Nicole Marie; granddaughters Candace
and Bella Marie; grandsons Diego, Leo, and Francois;
great grandson Bodin Bradley, plus numerous nieces,
nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Shannon was a very kind soul, pure of heart; and
completely devoted to her family and friends.
A memorial services was held at 11 a.m. on June 26,
2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 600 E. Water St.
