Ms. Anita Carol Brown of
Farmerville, LA will be
held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
March 8, 2017 at Wards Chapel
Cemetery in Farmerville
under the direction of
Griffin Funeral Home West
Ms. Brown was born
May 2, 1946, in Minden,
and passed from this life on
March 5, 2017, in Farmerville,
at the age of 70. She
was a member of the Union
Parish Saddle Club in her
younger years, where she
served as Queen. She was
an LPN for over 30 years, and retired from Glenwood
Regional Medical Center. After retirement, she pursued
a career in making handmade jewelry out of silverware
and bullets, as this was her hobby and craft for many
years. Anita loved horses, hunting and fishing and was
a member of Farmerville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Odos
Grafton Brown and Fanny Juanita Brown; two brothers
– David Odos Brown and Joseph Lavern Brown; and
beloved nephew, Joseph “Lil’ Joe” Arrington Brown.
Survivors include: Four nieces – Connie Brown
Wise, Terry Brown Baker and husband Tommy, Karen
Brown Broeder and husband Ray, Aleia Brown Safley
and husband Bill; two sisters in law and close friends,
Sue Dring Brown and Mary Griffin Brown; as well as
a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
