October 8, 2016, at
Farmerville Church of
Christ with Jerry Keene
and Larry White officiating.
Burial was in Liberty
Hill/Taylor Cemetery
under the direction of
Farrar Funeral Home in
Mrs. Savage was born
February 3, 1929, and
went to her heavenly
home Oct. 4, 2016, at the
age of 87. She was a lifelong
native of Union
Parish and a faithful, active member of Farmerville
Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School.
During her lifetime she worked at Turnage’s in Farmerville,
the Vogue, Hollis’ Jewelry, and People’s Department.
Store. She loved her family and was a loving,
caring mother, grandmother, and aunt.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Orion
B. and Susie Lee; her first husband of 25 years, Jesse
A. Neal, Jr.; 14 years later, she married Rupert Savage,
who also preceded her in death after 25 years; four sisters
– infants, Mae and Fae Lee, Vivian Wells and Mary
Scarpino; five brothers – Raymond Jack Lee, George
Lee, Orion B. Lee Jr., Mack Lee and Rae Lee.
Left to cherish her memory is: Her daughter, Judy
Beth White and husband Larry; a son, Kenneth Lee
Neal and wife Vickie; five grandchildren – Jana Ritzel
and husband Bill, Susan Wood and husband Matt,
Valerie Asbell and husband Andy, Velissa Rollins and
husband Shane and Vanna Hood and husband Seth;
12 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six
step great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Austin and
husband Alton; two brothers – Paul Lee and Lester Lee
and wife Ann; as well as numerous nieces, nephews
and many friends.
Pallbearers were Blaine Rollins, Shane Rollins,
Andy Asbell, Seth Hood, Matt Wood, Bill Ritzel and
Nolen Ritzel.
Visitation was held Friday, October 7, 2016, at Farrar
Funeral Home.
