She was devoted to her family, her church and her
community. As she prayed for her family daily, she called
each one by name. She had a true concern for people and a
special love for all children. She could make the youngest
of babies smile. Over the years, she served in many capacities
at Calvary Baptist Church in Monroe and Evergreen
Baptist Church in Bernice. She always led a God-centered
life. She felt that her ministry was to call, provide food and
send cards to those in need. Any and all were welcomed
during Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She liked
nothing better than having friends and family crowding
in and enjoying themselves. When asked her secret to
life, she quickly replied, “Love the Lord and love others.”
God truly blessed her with a loving family, good health, a
supportive church and community that she loved dearly
and where her legacy will live on in the many lives she
touched. Her passing leaves a huge hole in our lives that
will never be completely filled again.
