passed away on Tuesday,
July 19, 2016 surrounded
by her loving family
and faithful cat, Duchess.
Services to honor her life
were at 10 a.m. on Friday,
July 22, 2016, at Fellowship
Baptist Church in Dubach,
where she was baptized as
a child and was a lifelong
member. Bro. Connie Smith
officiated. Burial followed
at the Fellowship Cemetery
where Maxine could
trace her family back for
four generations. Arrangements
were under the direction
of Farrar Funeral
Home in Farmerville.
Visitation was Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Farrar Funeral
Home and Friday at the church prior to the service.
Maxine was born February 16, 1919, at home on her family’s
farm in Dubach. She was welcomed into Heaven by
her husband of 40 years, Harold H. Beckham, her mother,
Mary Jane Davidson, her father, Samual Lane Davidson,
sister, Allie Davidson Coots, brothers Horace and Liggin
(Hoss) Davidson, her beloved son, Levy (tragically taken
too soon at the early age of 24), infant granddaughter Mary
Ann Beckham and beloved son-in-law Dr. George Seiden
who she considered a son.
Left to cherish her memory and lots of wisdom are: Her
six children – Madison Lane “Matt” Beckham and wife, Patricia
“Pat,” Rebecca Jane “Becky” Seiden, Hazel Lucille
Robertson, Harold H. Beckham, Jr., Drucilla Nolan and
husband Harry George, Terry Beckham and wife Wanda;
as well as 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2
great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by special
friend and caregiver, John Trath.
Maxine loved her large family and was happiest when
they were all together with her, her many cats and dogs
and her flower garden. It was said she could put a stick
in the ground and it would grow. Her daylily bed was
admired by all.
Honoring Maxine as pallbearers were her grandsons,
Tim Beckham, Joseph Merritt, Jr., Stacy Beckham, John
Levy Beckham, Cade Nolan, Micheal Nolan, Josh Beckham,
and Jordan Harris.
The world and family lost a unique grand ole lady. A
long life well lived. Rest well, Mama, you deserve it.
