Kenneth ‘Moose’ Delcambre (06-09-2016)
A memorial celebration honoring the life of Kenneth
“Moose” Delcambre was held at 6:30 p.m. on June
2, 2016 at Piney Woods Christian Church in Downsville
with Pastor Scott Jennings officiating. Visitation was
from 4:30 p.m. until time of the service at the church.
Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar
Funeral Home in Farmerville.
On May 27, 2016, Moose lost his battle with multiple
myeloma. Family and friends never left his side as his
journey to eternal life began. He was a trooper to the
very end.
Moose retired from the Louisiana State Police with
30+ years and 12 more years in law enforcement. He
spent many years in narcotics trying with others to
keep our state free from drugs. He and many others
spent many, many hours attempting this task. Throughout
his career he earned the name of “The Legend.” He
proudly wore his badge and nickname “The Moose.”
One of a kind!
Moose was a kind, gentle giant of a man, with a
heart as big as the universe. Always willing to help
others. Like most Cajuns if you crossed him, you were
in trouble.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. We’ll
miss his stories and his big laugh.
The family wishes to thank his great hospice team,
Hospice of Caring Hearts and Ms. Cherry. His hospice
team became family to us. We thank them for the hours
of care and prayers given to us through this time. The
family would also express the many prayer warriors
“Moose” had received during this difficult time. Our
close friends who never left our side. We love y’all so
Moose is survived by: His wife Elizabeth Hebert
Delcambre; two stepchildren – Heidi Luquette and her
fiancé and children, Jonas, Audi, and Piper and Shane
Luquette, his wife Nicole, and their children, Bella,
Diego, Leo and soon to be Lil Francois.
Heaven has gained a true hero and legend. The
Legend has truly earned his wings. Rest in Peace and
be pain free.
