Home in Farmerville.
Bro. Parker, retired from
IMC/Angus Chemical following
33 years of service
as a pipefitter, went to his
heavenly home on March
20, 2016. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather,
and great-grandfather. An avid deer hunter for many
years and the oldest member of Rogers Creek Hunting
Club, where he killed a deer this last season. He also loved
gardening, working outdoors and watching sports.
Bro. Parker left a true Christian legacy for his family
to follow. He was ordained into the preaching ministry on
December 2, 1956, and actively served His Lord as a pastor
in various churches for over 50 years. He still served as
associate pastor and deacon of Enterprise Baptist Church.
He had a passion for winning people to the Lord and visiting
those in need. A veteran of World War II, he served
in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class with the Battery
“B,” 546th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion,
as a medic,from October 1942 through March 1946.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Plumer and
Bertha Parker; his first wife, Peggy Aulds Parker; a son,
Milas Parker Jr.; and great-grandson, Silas Snell.
Left to cherish his memory is: His wife of 22 years,
Lorene Dumas Parker; four daughters – Joyce Temple and
husband Billy of Farmerville, Rhonda Lee and husband
Vernon of Troup, Texas, Beverly Mayo and husband Paul
of Linville and Lori Duty and husband Mike of Farmerville;
a daughter-in-law, Colleen Parker of Farmerville;
four stepchildren – Bonnie and husband Fred Norrell,
Terry and wife Charlene Dumas, Mickey and Kim Dumas,
all of Farmerville, and Sharon and Larry Bonner of Oak
Grove; seven grandsons – Marc Temple and wife Monica,
Chris Temple and wife Dana, Shannon Lee and wife Tina,
Timothy Parker and wife Chancy, Ben Jones and wife Kylie,
Matt Duty and wife Brittany and Andrew Jones; five granddaughters
– Natalie Guillory and husband Toby, Andree’
Hall and husband Josh, Karla Doss and husband Marshal,
Kimberly Shows and husband Michael and Stephanie
Snell and husband Heath; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 stepgreat-
grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 17 step-greatgrandchildren;
and 2 step-great-great grandchildren; a
brother, Lindy Parker and wife Virginia of Hot Springs,
Ark.; two sisters – Alvarine Allred of El Dorado, Ark. and
Janet Graham of Farmerville; as well as numerous nieces,
nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Grandsons serving as pallbearers are Marc Temple,
Chris Temple, Shannon Lee, Timothy Parker, Ben Jones,
Matt Duty and Andrew Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Enterprise
Baptist Church – Kevin Dupree, Billy Garris and Kenny
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2016
at Antioch Baptist Church near Farmerville.
