Monday, March 14, 2016 at
Antioch Baptist Church
with Bro. Don Reeves, Bro.
Glyn Nale and Bro. Rubin
Weaver offi ciating. Burial
followed at Antioch Cemetery
under the direction
of Farrar Funeral Home
in Farmerville.
Mr. Gray, a retired lab
analyst at IMC-Angus
Chemical after 43 years,
went to his Heavenly home
on March 11, 2016. A lifelong
resident of Union
Parish, Mr. Gray was a
member of Antioch Baptist
Church. Mr. Gray coached youth baseball for many
years and served as state and national director of Dixie
Boys Baseball. He loved his church and served as a
greeter, giving candy to the children. He was an avid
hunter of all game. Mr. Gray attended many church
singings in the area and with his giving heart, supported
many other churches. He was a Notary Public
and loved to garden.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, T.T. and
Ida Belle McCormick Gray; three brothers – Jerrell,
Jimmy and Kenneth Gray; and three sisters – Era Joy
Gray, Elaine Gray Hayes and Patti Gail Gray.
Left to cherish his memory is: His loving wife of 60
years, Vivian Hudson Gray; three sons – Wayne and
wife Jane Gray, Charles Gray and David and wife Belinda
Gray, all of Farmerville; two sisters – Ann Gray
of Farmerville and Sue and husband Wayne Upshaw
of Monroe; fi ve grandsons – Robbie and wife Stephanie
Gray, Jeremy and wife Sonya Gray, Jerrod Gray and
fi ancé, Shelby Haynie, D.J. Gray and Eli Gray; three
granddaughters – Hannah Gray, Molly Gray and Darcie
Gray; eight great grandchildren –Brittani, Dylan, Emily,
Madison, Elissa, Landon, Hayden and Tanner; as
well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016,
at Antioch Baptist Church.
