B. T. Flurry (03-10-2016)
Funeral services for Mr. B. T. Flurry, 82, of Bernice,
were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016, at First Baptist
Church of Dubach with Bro. Barry Joiner and Bro.
Michael McIntosh officiating. Burial followed in Weldon
Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home
in Farmerville.
Mr. Flurry went to his heavenly home March 1, 2016. He
was retired from the oilfield, a member of First Baptist
Church of Dubach and a veteran of the U. S. Army, having
served in the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors and
enjoyed coon hunting. Mr. Flurry never met a stranger,
loved to laugh, and was a very generous man.
Preceding him in death were: His parents: Hugh and
Georgia Green Flurry; a brother, Coy Flurry; two sisters
– Joyce Tabor and Peggy Deason; and a son, Billy T.
Flurry, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are: His son, Phillip Flurry
and wife Laura of Bernice; three daughters – Terri
Singleton and husband Randy of Bernice; Sandi Flurry
Singleton of Bossier and Tejo Flurry Avery and husband
Victor of Bernice; a sister: Bobbie Jean Farris of Dubach;
11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, as well as
numerous other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers were his grandsons – Dusty Singleton,
Devin Singleton, Sawyer Avery, Jon Lee Avery, Cole Singleton,
John Taylor and Camron Flurry.
Visitation was March 3, 2016, at the church.
The family wishes to express special thanks to all of
Mr. Flurry’s caregivers at the Bernice Rehab, Arbor Rose,
