2016 at his home in Spearsville.
The son of Willie and
Odessa Hollis, Thomas was
born August 7, 1929. He was
a member and deacon of
Canaan Baptist Church. He
served in the United States
Army in the Korean War.
He retired from Willamette
Industries in Lillie.
He was preceded in
death by: His parents; two
brothers Billy and Chester
Thomas; and a sister,
Melba Dumas.
Survivors include: His
wife of 62 years, Syble Williams
Thomas; children
Nicky Thomas and wife
Stephanie of El Dorado,
Patricia Harrison and husband Dwayne of Waunakee,
Wisc., Kelly Methvin and husband Richard of Minden
and Bradford Thomas and wife Leslie of Farmerville; 10
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many beloved
nieces and nephews; five sisters Helen Ramsey, Christine
Campbell, Lucille Cottrell, Julie Habour and Janelle
Snyder; and a brother, David A. Thomas
Visitation was Sunday at Canaan Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March
7, 2016, at Canaan Baptist Church, with Bro. Richard
Methvin and Bro. Dwayne Harrison officiating. Burial
was in Canaan Cemetery with Bro. Charles Ainsworth
and Dr. John Mahony officiating and under the direction
of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Pallbearers were his grandsons: Derrick Thomas, Dannon
Thomas, Ben Harrison, Aaron Methvin, Nathaniel
Methvin and Brandan Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to
Canaan Baptist Church, 502 Canaan Church Rd., Spearsville,
LA 71277.
