Bro. Bubba Hoggatt officiating.
Burial followed
in Sweet Home Cemetery
near Huttig, Ark., under the
direction of Farrar Funeral
Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Pridgen went to his
heavenly home after 75
years 1 month and 2 days
on February 23, 2016. He
was a dedicated deacon
of Marion First Baptist
Church, always sacrificing
to help others.
He was a veteran of the US Army having served in
Korea. Gene was always “doing fine” no matter what the
circumstances were. He lovingly spoiled his pets like they
were family, but always claimed they were “Troy’s pets.”
He enjoyed joking and picking at everyone. He will be
sincerely missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by: His wife, Sarah Fae
Crowell Pridgen; parents Minor Colvin and Nellie Louise
Tarter Pridgen; and sister-in-law Betty Jane Kennedy
Left to cherish his memory is: His son, Troy Gene
Pridgen of Marion; two brothers – James C. Pridgen Sr.
of Marion and Carl Herman Pridgen and wife, Linda of
Strong, Ark.; brother-in-law Bill Crowell and wife, Gloria
of Jasper, Texas; an aunt, Ruth Lum of Huttig, Ark.; an
uncle, James Paul Tarter and wife, Dot of Haile; as well
as other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Franklin, Jimmy Dixon, Lucien
Savage, Bobby Earl Hicks, Robert Gulley and Richard
Towns. Honorary pallbearer was John Green.
Visitation was held Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the
