76, will be held at 1 p.m. on
Saturday, February 20, 2016,
at Kilpatrick’s Serenity
Gardens in West Monroe
with Bro. Gary Canterberry
officiating. Arrangements
are under the direction of
Farrar Funeral Home in
Farmerville.
Mrs. Cooper, a homemaker
and retired florist, went
to her heavenly home February
8, 2016. Shirley was a
Monroe native but had been
a resident of Downsville for
the past 20 years. She attended
Monroe City School
System and was a graduate
of Neville High School. Shirley also attended Northeast
Louisiana University School of Nursing. She was married
to Fredrick Berna Cooper and served faithfully with him
for 20 years in the United States Air Force. She was a retired
florist having worked with many florists in Monroe,
West Monroe and Farmerville. She was a loving mother
and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Fredrick
Berna Cooper; her parents, Cecil and Iris Young; and a
sister, Marie Elliott DeCokitie.
Left to cherish her memory is: Her daughter, Vicky L.
Cooper and friend Marvin Mannich; a grandchild, Roddy
D. White, III & Tara K.; and two great grandchildren – Brennan
Cole and Hayden Tanner.
