Frederick Berna Cooper (10-22-2015)
A Memorial service for
Frederick Berna Cooper
will be held at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, October 24, 2015,
at Farrar Funeral Home
Chapel with Bro. Gary
Canterberry offi ciating.
Mr. Cooper was born
April 11, 1938, in Rayville
and passed away on October
15, 2015, following a
brief illness.
He joined the Air Force
in 1956. His time in the service
included two tours in
Thailand. He retired after
20 years of service in 1976
at Griffi ss Air Force Base
in Rome, N.Y. He then
went to work for Fleeman
Aviation in Monroe and
later worked for Federal
Express in Monroe and
El Dorado. He made many
friends through his work
and kept in contact with
them regularly. After retiring
from Fed Ex, he
lived on Lake D’Arbonne
and spent his time taking
care of his family. Mr.
Cooper was a member of
Haughton Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: His
wife, Shirley Young Cooper;
a daughter, Vicky
Lynn Cooper; a grandson,
Trey White; two great
grandsons, Brennan and
Hayden White; longtime
friend, Marcia Coker and
his “special girl” Julie
and her husband Stoney
Goodman; siblings Virginia
Banks and husband
Ernie, Elizabeth Cooper,
Marvin and wife Georgia;
Niece Sharon Bryce and
her children Kary, Nataly,
Jared and Kara; Nephew
Stephen Banks and his
children Torie, Rhodes
and Cooper; very dear
and special friend Tracy
Summerville; and many
more friends.
He was preceded in
death by: His parents,
Fred and Dorris Cooper;
second parents Harry and
Elizabeth Statham, who
he helped take care of for
the past seven years; and
his Grandmother, Emma
Cumpton.
