Glenn ‘Pappy’ Pilgreen (10-01-2015)
Funeral services for Glenn “Pappy” Pilgreen, 77,
were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015
at Liberty Baptist Church, near Linville, with Bro. Paul
King officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery under
the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Pilgreen, a retired operator for gas and oil companies,
went to his heavenly home September 24, 2015.
Mr. Pilgreen was very active in his church and loved
to hunt with his family. He was very fun loving and a
jokester. Mr. Pilgreen was a charter member of Northeast
Union Fire Department and was also a member of
the Cattleman’s Association. He raised Beef Master
Cattle and had a very special companion, Sport, his
beloved dog.
He was preceded in death by: His wife, Joyce Ramsey
Pilgreen; a brother, Doyle Pilgreen; and a sister, Maureen
Brice.
Left to cherish his memory are: Three sons – Allen
and wife Lani Pilgreen of Linville, Travis and wife
Angie Pilgreen of Linville and Wayne and wife Betsy of
Vidalia; nine grandchildren – Nathan, Ashley, Wesley,
Cody and wife Ashley, Kyle, Stephanie, Raeanne, Jeffery
and Adrienne; four great grandchildren – Cameron,
Zach, Addyson and Jace; three sisters – Carol Avant
and husband Bill of Farmerville, Wilma Thrasher of
Farmerville and Ruby Villers of Monroe; as well as a
host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Richard Pilgreen, Jonathan
Pilgreen, Herb Romero, Junior Bonner, Billy Cards
and Jimmy Russell.
Honorary Pallbearers were Danny Reppond, Ed
Hall, Tiny Whatley, members of North East Union Fire
Department and the Men’s Liberty Sunday school class.
Visitation was 5:00-8:00pm Friday at Liberty Baptist
Church near Linville.
