Glenda E. “ Momma D” Dangerfield (01-15-2015)
Funeral services for Glenda Dangerfield, 65, a native of Farmerville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday January 16, 2015, at the Willie Davis Jr. Recreation Center in Farmerville under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Farmerville. Interment will immediately follow at the Farmerville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday January 15, 2015, in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home. Family hour will be held from 6 - 7PM at the church of Triumph in Farmerville, officiating the service Thursday will be Sharion L. Brown and on Friday will be State Prince Luther R. Callahan.
Mrs. Dangerfield, known as “ Momma D,” passed away peacefully Tuesday January 6, 2015.
Momma D. was a very loving, outgoing person and a very good friend. She always kept a smile on her face to all who knew her. She was very devoted to her husband and kids. She taught school at Farmerville High, grades 9- 12. She loved all of her students unconditionally. She was the first black woman to serve as the Farmerville town council, from 2005-2009 and was very active in the community.
She was preceded in death by: Her father, Duke E. Fields Sr.
She is survived by: Her husband Willie Dangerfield; a daughter, Nina; a son, Marcus; two sisters, Anita, and Constance; two brothers, Duke E. Fields, Jr. and Larry; her mother, Rutha B. Fields; as well as many grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Repast will be held at the Willie Davis Recreation Center.
