Daniel Breithaupt and Rev. Connie Ward officiating. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Lockwood passed away peacefully December 5, 2014, at Willis Knighton in Shreveport following a very courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving father and grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. He was known for his strong work ethic and was a man of his word who was always ready to help someone in need. He was an incredible guitar player and a self-proclaimed singer and songwriter. He served in the Korean War as a Corporal in the U.S. Army and then, for many years, served his country proudly as a member of the Army National Guard. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed a good card game and loved his Lord and Savior. Although he had done other types of work and farming, his true calling was truck driving. He was self-employed and hauled logs before retiring.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Joe and Mary Lockwood; infant son Matthew; seven brothers – Travis, Marvin, Raymond, Willard, Don and two infants brothers; four sisters – Ethel Brashier, Gladys Hayes, Clemmie Johnson and Izola Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory are: His two sons, Lonnie Ray Lockwood and wife, Jill of Newnan, Ga. and Royce Edward of Haughton; daughter Robyn Allison Lockwood Taylor and fiancé, Steve Zuber of Downsville; sister Louise Ginn and husband, Zeb of Farmerville; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Nick, Carrie, Emily, Andy, Austin, Juliana and Landon; his one and only great grandchild, Hayley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Pallbearers were Wesley Davis, Barry Lockwood, Gary Johnson, Tracy Ginn, Phillip Allen and Mark Taylor.
Visitation was 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the church.
