Photo of Bill ‘Billy’ Calaway Funeral services for Bill “Billy” Calaway, 87, of Downsville were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Bob Jackson officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Hampton, Arkansas, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Calaway was a retired superintendent from the Texas School District and San Jacinto Hospital. He enjoyed dancing, hunting and carpentry. He was a member of The First Memorial Assembly of God in El Dorado and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II. He was a member of VFW Outpost 2413 and American Legion Post 10.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Flantis and Mamie Delaney Calaway; and brother Vincent Calaway.
Left to cherish his memory is: His wife Sybil Calaway of Downsville; son Troy Calaway and wife Jackie of Texas; three daughters – Treshia Stafford, Rita Boeker and husband Scott and Sabrina Kinney and husband, Mark, all of Texas; two stepsons - Danny Bryant and wife Cindy and Deryl Bryant and wife Nancy, all of Louisiana; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 step-great grandchild; as well as numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers were Brandon Inman, Larrymey Hawkins, David Stafford, Scott Boeker, Danny Bryant and Deryl Bryant. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Bryant and Mark Kinney.
Visitation was Friday, September 26, 2014, at Farrar Funeral Home.
