Myrtle ‘Cat’ Jinks (08-14-2014)
Funeral services for Myrtle “Cat” Jinks, 77, of Downsville were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014, at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Wayne Whiteside and Chaplain Don Banks officiating. Burial was in Crestview Cemetery in Farmerville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jinks, a dietician and homemaker, went to her heavenly home August 5, 2014. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, card games and her day lilies.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Homer and Myrtle Nutt Pratt; three sisters - her twin sister Mary Ima Jean Reese as well as Melba Voight and Frances LaBeff; and two great grandsons – Hunter and Cameron Jinks.
Left to cherish her memory is: Her husband William B. “Bill” Jinks of Downsville; three sons – William E. “Blue” Jinks and wife Lorrie of Downsville, Homer Ray Jinks of Farmerville and Marty Kay Jinks, mother of 3 grandchildren of Farmerville, and Mark O’Neal Jinks and wife, Johnna of Shreveport; two daughters – Rebecca Jinks Brennon and husband Charles of Downsville and Rhonda Jinks Owens and husband Shelton also of Downsville; a brother, Homer T. Pratt of Bossier City; 13 grandchildren – Jennifer Creed and husband Jason, Casey Rogers, Adam Smith, Colby Jinks and wife Courtney, Jessica Kelly, Sam Smith and wife Victoria, Dalton Jinks and wife Katie, Josh Brennon and wife Leanne, Matthew Jinks, Caleb Jinks, Landon Jinks, Mason Jinks, and Marley Jinks; several great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren – Whitney Owens, Bonnie Bearden, Stephanie Craighead and Angela Delrio; special friends Nancy Cooper and Tiny Ward; and caregivers: Cheryl and Wanda.
Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Mason Jinks and Landon Jinks.
Visitation was Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home.
