Maudine Farley (08-07-2014)
A memorial service for Miss Maudine Farley, 81, of Farmerville, was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014, at Sardis Baptist Church in Farmerville with Bro. Rob Jackson and Bro. Paul Carter officiating. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the church.
Miss Farley was born March 6, 1933 in Union Parish to the union of Henry “H.H.” and Ollie Joyner Farley. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 30, 2014. Miss Farley was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She was a retired Registered Nurse at Shumpert Hospital in Shreveport, where she was the ICU supervisor. Miss Farley was an avid supporter of the Shoe Box Ministry and school supplies for the indian reservation.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Henry and Ollie Farley; and brothers Jess Herman Farley and Hendry Don Farley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, brother, Jim Farley and his wife Betty; two sisters – Joyce Peters and her husband A.J. and Carolyn Kelley and her husband Johnny; three nieces – Teresa Farley, Cindy Dycus and Stephie Duran; nephew John Farley Kelley; nine great nieces and great nephews who were the pride and joy of her life; as well as special friends Ethel Wilkes and Mary Walden.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Arbor Lake Nursing Home and especially the two sitters and friends Faye Singleton and Pam Thomas.
Memorials may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church in care of the Shoe Box Ministry and school supplies for the indian reservation.
