Cubie Taylor Wallace (05-29-2014)
Photo of Cubie Taylor WallaceCubie Taylor Wallace was born in Point, on February 11, 1941. She was one of two children born to Norman Barr Taylor and Myrtle Hart Taylor. She died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 25, 2014, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Wilhite United Methodist Church on Wes Wilhite Road in Downsville, officiated by Ricky Nolan, assisted by the Rev. Ted Freeland. Graveside services followed at Mars Hill Cemetery in Downsville.
Cubie retired after over 50 years of personally providing residential and commercial building designs to clients in Louisiana and other states. She was the founder of Taylor-Wallace Designs, Inc., an architectural and engineering firm practicing in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and Missouri. Cubie obtained a bachelor of arts master of education degrees in education from Northeast Louisiana University and a bachelor of arts in interior design from Louisiana Tech University.
She is survived by: Her husband of 48 years Karl “Mike” Wallace; a brother, Dr. Barr W. Taylor and wife Francis, of Greenville, NC.; two sons and daughters in law – Karl Michael and Brenda Wallace and Son& Daughter-in-law, Gregory Taylor and Jessica Wallace; Daughter and son in law Anna Catherine and William “Bill” Pearson; five grandsons – Joe Wallace, Jacob Pearson, Josh Pearson, John Pearson and Elijah Wallace; and two granddaughters – Lauren Wallace & Ashley Pearson, all of West Monroe and Downsville.
Pallbearers were her grandsons – Jacob Pearson, Joe Wallace, Josh Pearson, John Pearson, Ben Bridges and Bill Pearson.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her caregiver, Anita Littleton and First Choice Hospice for their kindness and attention given to Cubie.
