Kenyon Lindsay (05-29-2014)
Funeral services for Mr. Kenyon Lindsay, 87, of Downsville, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May, 25, 2014, at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Farmerville. The Rev. Kurt Auger, assisted by Ronnie Park, officiated. Interment followed at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mr. Lindsay was born on April 1, 1927 and passed away on May 22, 2014. He was retired from the Ouachita Parish School Board and principal of Shady Grove Elementary for 22 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Farmerville. Mr. Lindsay was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and traveling.
He is survived by: His wife, Marie Lindsay of Downsville; son Dave Lindsay and wife Cindy of Rochester Hills, Mich.; daughter Lynn Heath and husband Gary of West Plain, Mo.; two grandchildren – Channa Lindsay and James Lindsay; three step-children, - Konni Bryan, Dianne Garceau, and Wayne Sanderson; six step-grandchildren; two sisters – Flora Strittman and Doris McNeil of, both of West Monroe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lindsay, Ray Gambino, John Bennett, Clarence White, Carol George, Glen Leach and Shelby McManus. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Men’s Sunday School Class.
Visitation was Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
