McCharen, Stevenson to wed October 28

Carolyn (Cissy) Maria McCharen and Richard Jay Stevenson are pleased to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The couple plans to wed in a 6 p.m. ceremony Oct. 28 at Broadmoor Methodist Church in Shreveport.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Marshall and Carolyn Pearce of Shreveport and Bruce and Kim Stanley of Farmerville. She is the granddaughter of the late Tex McCharen, Mrs. Jimmye McCharen of Shreveport, Mrs. Ree Pearce of Ruston and the late Reeves Pearce.
She received her bachelorís and masterís degrees in counseling from Louisiana Tech University and is employed as a social worker with the state of Louisiana in Minden.

The groom is the son of Flop and Sandy Stevenson of Farmerville. He is the grandson of the late Charlie and Peggy Anderson, and the late J.C. and Dot Stevenson, all of Jonesboro.
He earned his bachelorís degree from Louisiana Tech and is employed with Avalone Architectural Specialties in Shreveport.
